Why are lanes being reduced at Venice Blvd and Robertson Blvd?

Construction of the Venice Boulevard Bridge, with columns in the center of the street, will require the widening of Venice Boulevard which includes the reconstruction of the median and reconfiguration of traffic lanes. Lane reductions and other work activities are related to the construction of the Venice Boulevard Bridge and the construction of the street improvements.

How long will the construction last?

While work continues on the bridge, crews will be conducting street improvements along Venice Boulevard over the next several months. Visit our Construction News section for information on current construction activities.


When will construction take place?

Day work will be performed from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Night work will be performed 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., Sunday through Thursday.

What streets will be affected?

Venice Boulevard will be reduced to two lanes of traffic in each direction between Culver Blvd and Vera Ave. Please refer to the map for more information.

Intermittent partial and full street closures will be required throughout bridge construction and additional notices will be issued to the public.

Will there be pedestrian access at the intersection of Venice Blvd and Robertson Blvd?

Yes. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times or via a designated walkway installed by the contractor.

Will there be access to residences and businesses around the intersection?

Yes. Local access to all businesses and residences will be maintained throughout all construction activities.

How will parking be affected in the construction area?

Parking will be prohibited along certain areas throughout construction and “No Stopping Anytime” restrictions will be strictly enforced at all times.

Will there be signage to help direct traffic and pedestrians?

Yes.  Electronic message boards and directional signage will be used to safely direct drivers and pedestrians around the construction zones.
